Many inquiries I receive from couples come from long distance locations from the Gold Coast. They could be elsewhere in Queensland, interstate or even overseas. I like to meet with couples rather than just speak on the phone or communicate via email. It also says the couple is genuine about getting their choice of celebrant right rather than based on price alone. It’s good to get properly introduced to each other and then be able discuss things face to face. Obviously for long distance couples this isn’t so easy or practical. So unless they are planning a trip to the Gold Coast to meet their wedding suppliers, I often suggest to couples that we use Skype™.
Skype™ is a very effective form of communication in this day and age. It allows both parties to see each other face to face and get to know each other. This way I can present my services in a professional and friendly manner, plus talk to the couple about their wedding details. This is so much better than a quick and impersonal chat on the phone that often accomplishes very little. Seeing each other also gives us a glimpse of each other’s personalities. You can’t deny the importance of a couple being confident and happy in their choice of Marriage Celebrant. Let’s be honest here! Any celebrant can answer the usual questions, but you can’t beat good chemistry between people. Getting along well with each other helps to guarantee a successful wedding day.
To Skype™ also allows me to be able to visually show couples examples of what particular documents look like. Couples can also show me their documents to confirm if they are adequate and correct.
