There was fog, rain, thunder and lightening! But Darren and Chloe’s wedding was always destined to be a fantastic day. At our first meeting, they spoke of the type of wedding they were hoping for. This included making sure that each others desires were included in the ceremony. It didn’t take long to discover that Darren has a very dry sense of humour. He constantly had fun stirring up Chloe, but she instantly uses her charm and puts Darren back in his place. It was great having a couple take ownership of their wedding day. The result was a ceremony that suited them perfectly and also included a lovely prayer and reading by Darren’s Mum.
The Hampton Estate Winery is a beautiful venue that is located on the top of Mount Tamborine. Normally, the lovely Chapel and its glass walls provide stunning backdrop with views of the region. But on this day we had fog blowing across the mountain, rain on its way and thunder in the distance. Needless to say, some changes to plans were made to accommodate the situation. But it didn’t distract from the fact that Darren and Chloe were there with a mission to become Mr and Mrs Newell! Leading up to the big moment, lightning struck the property with a bright flash and massive loud bang! And unbeknown to the majority of guests, Darren was standing there with two broken ribs as a result of a fall that he had when riding his bike up at Springbrook.
As we waited for the bride to arrive, the rain got heavier and the thunder more frequent. Nevertheless, Chloe arrived under an umbrella looking absolutely radiant. Darren couldn’t take his eyes off her and stood there at the front of the room with a big smile on his face. The ceremony commenced and went as planned regardless of whatever the weather conditions could throw at them. The focus was totally on the beautiful couple as we moved form the giving of vows to the exchanging of rings. In what seemed only minutes, the paperwork was signed and the beautiful couple were on their way to a wonderful future together. Congratulations Darren and Chloe!
