Rudi and Shannon discovered Little Jetty Park on a trip to Byron Bay several months ago. Upon seeing it, they knew that this was the perfect outdoor venue for their wedding. Although a jetty no longer exists, a stunning beach remains that is very popular with surfers and swimmers alike.
A feature of Little Jetty Park is that it provides protection from the usual strong sea breeze and noise from breaking waves. To compliment the natural beauty of this park, Shannon’s brother built a beautiful arbour made from bamboo. Rudi arrived with his family and groomsmen raring to go. His nerves were obvious, but his excitement for the arrival of his beautiful bride more so! Shannon arrived and was escorted to an awaiting Groom by her father. They held hands and their eyes hardly left each other. With the help of my small portable P.A. system, everyone was able to engage in the moment. Even the guests could see that this was an impressive venue and natural amplitheatre.
For someone who has a shy nature about him, Rudi was very composed throughout the ceremony. He knew exactly the commitment he was entering into and was embracing the moment. Shannon simply looked happy and excited that she was marrying the love of her life. And their little boy was also beautifully behaved…which I think was a huge relief for the couple. But like I said to Rudi prior to the ceremony, if your son wants to stand with you, let him be a part of your day. He didn’t, and the ceremony went without a hitch. Like all weddings, it was over in a flash. Rudi and Shannon kissed, signed the marriage certificates and went off for their photos. But more than that, their new future together as Mr and Mrs had just begun!
