What a delightful couple! I was very fortunate to marry Roger and Ky (Kyandra) because their original celebrant had to unfortunately cancel his services. But they found me…and we got on like a house on fire! Our first meeting late last year was at the Elephant Rock Café where they were to have their wedding ceremony. They were very prepared. But what stood out was how very much in love with each other they were. I could feel that this would be a great wedding day and it lived up to expectations! Roger arrived with his groomsmen in tow, and had that lovely nervous energy about him. When Ky arrived with her Father, Roger was mesmerised by the sight of her. When he looked down to the floor because of high emotions, I jokingly told him off and said “look at her”!
The Elephant Rock Café is a beautiful choice for a wedding and oozes with character! The view of the ocean behind us and the sight of Elephant Rock itself sets a memorable scene. Roger and Ky wrote their own versions of how they met which was pretty funny. They also wrote their own “personal vows” which added to the emotion of the day. Roger was especially emotional reading out his vows to Ky at this point of the ceremony, and Ky never took her eyes off him. It was a treasured moment for them. Once pronounced as Husband and Wife, things moved pretty quickly for them as they had to race off for photos to be taken before the sun disappeared.
As with all weddings, this was a pretty special day…and what a great venue! The owners and staff were very efficient and professional. The guests were treated to delicious canapes and drinks while they waited for the bridal party to return. What a great day for everyone to remember!
