Latin Dancing had brought Dan and Lesley together. The chemistry they had on the floor together then developed further. They had realised that this chemistry had brought them together for a reason. In other words, dancing took them to a new level in their relationship and they had fallen in love!
Even though this was the “second time around”, they were very enthusiastic and excited about their future as husband and wife. Preparing the paperwork for them was a breeze. Their ceremony was equally easy to compose. My wife Gabby had joined me on my first visit with Dan and Lesley. This particular night, we met their “fur children” (dogs). Gabby jokingly suggested about the dogs being involved in the ceremony and we all had a laugh about that.
The wedding was being held at the Rotary Broadwater Chapel in Southport. The day arrived with an overcast sky with the threat of a little rain. But no-one really cared. This little chapel is beautiful both inside and out and was going to accommodate everyone very comfortably. Upon arriving at venue, we saw them straight away. The dogs were there, dressed in vests with a bow-tie and hats to match. They looked gorgeous! All the guests arrived and a nervous Dan fluttered around the place finding things to do so-as to kill time. When Dan looked out the window and saw his bride arrive, he looked very relieved. Not that he needed to worry since Lesley made her way into the chapel with no time to waste.
The wedding was lovely and included a traditional Philippino/Hispanic Coin Giving Ceremony. Both Dan and Lesley spoke their words to each other very confidently and in no time were pronounced as Husband and Wife. Photos were taken out the front of the chapel and included all family and friends. This was a lovely change rather than seeing the couple leave as is usually the case. Then we all headed to Café Catalina to enjoy some South American cuisine. A perfect way to conclude a perfect day. Did I mention that it rained? Well no body seemed to notice!
