The venue was old, charming, unique and visually eye catching! Perfect for Warren and Charlene. Here we were, standing on this balcony overlooking the Southbank Parklands in a part of Brisbane loved and used by so many of its residents. So it is fair to say that the vibe and atmosphere at The Ship Inn for Warren and Charlene’s wedding was perfect! This couple could not have been easier to work with. Charlene was very motivated and keen to get her wedding day organised. I’m confident to say that Warren was happy to sit back and let Charlene go for it. And if I remember correctly, things were pretty well organised and booked in around 2 weeks…me included. So from the outset, I knew that this wedding would go without a hitch!
Upon arriving at The Ship Inn, I was immediately greeted by friendly and helpful staff who clearly love their jobs. I quickly found Warren who was somewhat quiet but obviously looking forward to the ceremony. His groomsman Martin was great to have a bit of a laugh with which I believe helped keep this groom settled. We awaited the arrival of the Bridal party who all looked beautiful as they walked down the white carpet. Then Charlene arrived looking absolutely radiant…and a little nervous at the same time. I love the way Grooms become spellbound when they catch sight of their bride. And Warren was no exception.
The ceremony wasn’t very long, but absolutely perfect for this couple. Other than the ring being a slight challenge for Warren to place on Charlene’s finger, it all went without a hitch! As for the kiss after I pronounced them as husband and wife? What can I say except that the flame definitely won’t go out in this marriage!
It was a lovely day that I had the honour and joy to be a part of. Congratulations Warren and Charlene. May you have blessed and long future together as Mr and Mrs Morrell.
